Introduction

Objectives

  • The maintenance of asphalt road pavements is a continuous task and the responsibility of the employees of the municipalities and municipalities. The maintenance aims to increase the level of safety on the roads and reduce the rate of pavement deterioration and prolong the years of road service in addition to reducing the cost of operating vehicles by securing a good pavement surface and helping the continuity of the use of roads continuously in the conditions different climatic conditions.
  • This course aims to introduce the participants to the most common pavement defects found in the road network, to find the possible causes for these defects, and to suggest effective and appropriate practical ways to address them, in addition to the technical bases and specifications necessary for the work of implementers and supervisors of successful maintenance works for asphalt pavements.

  • The materials used in the maintenance of asphalt roads.
  • Used equipment, its condition and method of use.
  • Methods of paving maintenance according to the type of defect.
  • Acceptance of the completed works.
