  • Points of agreement and differences between international human rights law and international criminal law, as well as the limits, opportunities and challenges of prosecuting those responsible for mass violations of human rights.
  • Addressing international criminal law from a human rights and gender equality perspective.
  • Children's rights and trials in accordance with international criminal law.
  • International crimes in the practice of human rights courts.

Course content:

  • Explain the process of interaction between human rights, gender issues, children's rights, and international criminal law.
  • Assessing the extent to which international criminal law meets the expectations of victims of various crimes, such as genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity, in addition to assessing the contribution of international trials to support human rights.
  • Compare the tools available to women and children to obtain their rights, when they are exposed to organized violence.
  • Engage in discussions on the role of human rights courts and the International Criminal Courts in protecting vulnerable groups in times of armed conflict and large-scale violence, and whether they have succeeded in playing this role or not.
  • Engage in making lists and sharing information about agencies combating sexual and gender-based violence.
